Have you ever heard of Hilma? She was a painter. An extraordinary painter.

I have seen the film and it touched me on different levels.

First, I am a woman and I see and feel sometimes the imbalance in the world for female towards male. Is it in medicine, science, history, jobs,… I am not a feminist and I value both genders equally, but I am well aware what was going on in the past and is still going on.

So, this aspect of the film touched me. Society, opinion leaders did not listen to her, they didn't take her seriously, they laughed at her. And of course, I am well aware, it is a film and things might be exaggerated, but for me I find truth in it.

Here is the link to the website where you can see selected works of her. I find the colors she used fascinating, not to mention the shapes she painted.
